2019 Telfort Graduation Ceremony

The 2019 Graduation Ceremony of Telfort Business Institute was held in 116 auditorium of the school library at 1 pm on April 23. The attending leaders of Brian Yang, Chairman of Telfort Education Group and Associate Dean of Telfort Business Institute, Michael Howbrook, Education Director of Telfort Business Institute. Chinese and foreign teachers, personnel from Student Affairs Department, Project Director and Project Manager of Telfort Education Group all attended the Ceremony.




Firstly, Education Director Michael Howbrook announced the "2019 Honorary Diploma" winners on behalf of the college and presented them with certificates and commemorative cups. Lu Lin (Luka), Xuejing Gan (Trista), Yicheng Shen (Jimmy), Liyue Zhang (Ruby), Jie Wu (Jane) and Lele Wang (Ariel) won this award.

Liangdong Bao, a graduate of the “2+2” Project, and Lu Lin, the winner of the “honorary diploma”, spoke on behalf of the graduates. Liangdong Bao, who was admitted to the University of Technology Sydney, Australia, shared his experience of studying at Telfort in the past few years with very fluent English. The strong academic atmosphere and English-only teaching environment not only cultivated his good habits of self-learning, but also improved his English proficiency. Now he can use English to communicate with foreign teachers from time to time on everyday fun. He also expressed his gratitude to his alma mater. Because of the good learning environment and qualified teachers who carefully guided the students here, he was able to get the opportunity to enter his favourite university. Lu Lin, an outstanding graduate of the third-year and also the winner of ”Honorary Diploma”, recalled her friendship with teachers and classmates in the past three years. She was especially thankful to the teachers who had paid extra attention to her life and study for offering tremendous help in her successfully graduating from Telfort and now she was about to studying in a foreign country. She once again thanked her alma mater for its high-quality education and training. In the end, she encouraged herself and  classmates with the motto “Opportunity always favors those who are fully prepared” to bravely face the opportunities and challenges that would come soon after graduation and embarked on a new journey with confidence.


Michael Howbrook, who has worked in Telfort for more than eight years and was about to retire, delivered the final inaugural speech with emotion. He said that during his many years at Telfort, he witnessed the growth of the school and had worked hard with other colleagues to make Terfort move on progressing. Today, Telfort has established partnerships with many universities in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. The graduates of Telford will also be certified by the DRII (Disaster Recovery International Institute), which is benefit for either employment or further studies. Mr. Mike has not forgotten to give a last lesson to the graduates: "Working and learning is the theme of everyone's life. You must have a serious attitude and a humble and eager spirit to do anything. I hope that you will become more knowledgeable and wise, a person who knows etiquette and is upright."


Mr. Yang expressed heartfelt congratulations to all the 2019 graduates. Telfort was among the first Sino-foreign cooperative education institution to enter China. In the past 20 years, it has cultivated a large number of international talents for China, and it has also been well received and praised by parents. In January 2018, Telfort Business Institute was certified as a full member by the UN Responsible Management Education Alliance (UN PRME). Mr. Yang went to the UK to visit four universities that had a relationship with Telfort and personally met with Telfort students at the docking university this month. According to student’s feedback, studying in the UK was fulfilling and happy. The campus was very beautiful and they could quickly adapt to local diet and lifestyle. Mr. Yang expressed his expectations to the graduates, “Don't live up to the training of the school and the country, continue to study hard abroad, give full play to your talents and wisdom, and strive to create a better future! Telfort will continue to provide follow-up services and academic support to graduates. I wish you all successful and a bright future!”
