Hearts Are Getting Closer-- Outward-Bound Training Day of the Class 2017

Here comes the annual Outward-Bound Training Day.

In order to help student set a more resilient attitude in their future career and to enhance their teamwork abilities, Department of Career and Development, contracted to Shanghai Quhui Culture Communication Co., Ltd., had organized an Outward-Bound Training at Wusi Farm Chalet on May 23rd for the students in Class 2017.

The training event this year is centered on team-building. The diversity and fun of the event has been greatly improved over the past years, namely, team reconstruction, caterpillar sprint, challenge No.1, drum play and energy transmission. These well-designed, high-quality Outward-Bound training activities had inspired students’ sense of teamwork and team glory. The self-centered personal concept was gradually broken as the students began to realize their own value in the team. They were more confident in participating in the discussion, uniting and cooperating with other members of the team to overcome difficulties and complete the challenge. It is worth mentioning that the Outward-Bound Training carried out at a high temperature of 33℃, so it was also a strict test for the will and physical fitness of the students. However, the students did not fear the hardships and insisted on training during the full event.

Department of Career and Development aims to prepare students soft employable skills by organizing Outward-Bound Training. Years of practice have shown that the Outward-Bound Training not only allows students to experience the importance of teamwork, nut also has a very positive impact on students’ future life attitude and career development. In the student speech session before the end of the event, regardless of winning or losing, the students showed their respect and appreciation to their team members, and were looking forward to having more team activities in the future. Some students said that the Outward-Bound Training had benefited them a lot. While enjoying the fun of team playing, the students also had a better understanding of team spirit. They now recognized that as an individual his or her ability was limited, but if they combined into a team, they were able to accomplish tough tasks which one couldn’t. Better teamwork ability and communication skills will enable students to take the lead in a high competitive workplace environment in the future.

There is a saying that ‘People gather together to form a crowd, and the hearts gather together to make a team’. This is the power of team-building -everyone re-recognizes himself in the team, evaluates himself and then grows happily with the team.
