Practice Course for Digital Atrs - Visiting the China Academy of Art and Graduate Exhibition

In order to improve the aesthetic level of art students, broaden the artistic vision and enhance the artistic quality, the Digital Arts teaching and research group of our college provides practical programs, and the Student Affairs Department organizes a visit to the China Academy of Art and graduate exhibition on June 5th. The practical class is led by the instructor of the Digital Arts.


The China Academy of Art is a long-established art-related public university with a profound artistic heritage. It has trained a large number of domestic and international masters of painting, including Lin Fengmian, Pan Tianshou, Huang Binhong, Wu Tianyu, Li Keran, Dong Xiwen, Deng Bai, and Zao Wuji. In November 2018, the China Academy of Art was publicized by the Ministry of Education as the first batch of Chinese traditional heritage inheritance bases.

The destination of this practical class is the Hangzhou Xiangshan Campus of the China Academy of Art. The design of the campus draws on the construction and planning mode of the western university campus. It pays great attention to the artistic conception and ecological environment protection of the whole environment. The functional area is divided reasonably, integrating architecture, space, landscaping and natural environment. The design of the architectural group inherits the humanistic thought of "the combination of heaven and man" in ancient China. It is built according to the natural terrain. It is connected by the art corridor surrounding the mountains and merges with the ancient teaching buildings, mountainside cabins, small art museums and artists. Various types of places and landscapes such as room groups, outdoor sculptures and environmental art works. In addition to the campus, the students also visited the Xiangshan Art Commune, which is famous for its art industry chain. Some of the students are very interested in outdoor design and have applied to the architectural design majors of foreign universities. The students said with excitement: “Thanks to the college for providing us with such a good opportunity to study and learn architectural design, especially the ancient Chinese architectural complex that combines many classical art elements. It is a huge masterpiece of art. It is unforgettable. The ancients said that 'the ear is not as good as seeing it; seeing it is not as good as the footsteps', personally observing and understanding in the practical class make us feel deeper."

The China Academy of Art’s graduation exhibition is equivalent to the “Carnival of Hangzhou” and has attracted the attention of the art world. The theme of this year's Graduation Exhibition is “Youth, View, World” and exhibited in the “Xiangshan Art Commune” art park. The exhibits are distributed in a number of theme pavilions, including the "100 Years of Solitude" print exhibition, the "Audit (ALTERMIC)" graduate exhibition, the Zhijiang International Youth Art Week series exhibition and the costume design professional exhibition. In addition to the traditional paintings, models, handicrafts, sculptures, visual design and other static works, the works include the use of modern audio-visual technology, photography technology and computer simulation technology to create a dynamic interaction directly by the audience. The students of Telford Digital Arts are mainly divided into 3D Animation direction and Graphic Design direction. When visiting the graduation exhibition, they are led by professional class instructors to explain the professional related works. The students are very motivated, and sometimes they whisper around the work, and sometimes listen carefully to the instructor's introduction and concentrate on this outdoor teaching class. Some students said happily: "I think I chose the art road. It is right. When I see so many excellent graduation works, I can understand their wonderful things better than others, and I am more motivated to put my expertise. I have learned. When I graduated from Telfort, I hope to make a better work."

Each year, the college arranges several professional-related cognitive practice courses or professional practice courses for students of multimedia art majors, so that students can enhance their cognition of art in a pleasant practical experience, thus stimulating students' interest in actively exploring and learning professional skills. This practical course not only complements the professional courses of art students, but also reflects the teaching philosophy of “happy education” that Telfort has always adhered to. Mainly under the guidance of modern educational theory, a series of teaching plans are designed for the purpose of “teaching in a way that students love or can adapt quickly”, and can be continuously adjusted according to the actual situation of students and immediate feedback in the implementation. “Happy Teaching” is one of Telfort’s brand advantages. Over the years, it has earned a good reputation among the students and greatly improved the quality of Telfort’s teaching.
