The opening ceremony of the 2018 freshmen was held on the 13th of this month in 116 Lecture Hall of Xuhui Campus of Shanghai Institute of Technology. Michael Howbrook, Education Director of Telfort Business Institute, and the project leaders of Telfort Education Group attended the ceremony.
On behalf of the college, Michael Howbrook announced and awarded certificates to scholarship recipients for the 2017-2018 academic year. The students with entrance year of 2016 who received the scholarship for this academic year are: Luka, Ruby, Trista, Jan, Jimmy, Ariel; the students with entrance year of 2017 who received the scholarship for this academic year are: Flora, Lin, Stella, Teresa, Glona, Nirvana.
Ting and Luka gave a speech on behalf of the winning students: Thanks to our teachers! It is your efforts, patience and enthusiasm that have made our study life in Telfort a full success. In Telfort, a vibrant international family, we understand the importance of independence and consciousness, and the necessity of interest and confidence. We are approaching to growth and maturity step by step under the college’s dedicated mentoring. The teachers here are happy to help the students and each has a unique teaching style. They can guide us through our creativity and talent. Teachers are shining on us and warming us like the sun. We will be working in various fields in the future. However, the efforts that we put into to make a life choice will not be in vain. We believe that Telfort provides another possibility for our life, and she let us no longer regret the past and fall in love with our dreams. Let’s fight for our dreams!
Chaofan Yu, on behalf of all freshmen, gave the speech: like the students here, I’m curious and uneasy. I often wondered what my college life would be like before entering college. We came to the university with different goals in life, and we came here with the high expectations of our parents, which is the way of our lives. From today, we are responsible for our own actions; we want to become the master of our own destiny; we have to use our own wisdom and courage to face and to overcome the difficulties in learning and the setbacks in life. I believe there will be all kinds of opportunities waiting for us, so let us work together for the greater development in the future!
On behalf of the college, Michael Howbrook gave the speech: there are a large number of teachers from native English-speaking countries all over the world. Our students should make good use of this resource to expand their understanding and application of world culture. You will be comfortable with English with different accents and face it in any international environment in the future. The learning life at Telfort is colorful. You need study hard and finish homework and tests. Meanwhile, you need learn how to relax and make friends. After the ceremony, Yanhua Shen, a police officer at the Shanghai-West University Police Station of the Cultural Protection Bureau of Shanghai Public Security Bureau, provided safety prevention education for all the freshmen.
